Calgary International Airport

Calgary International Airport is an international airport that offer non-stop services to destination that are over 100 in number in United States, Canada and to other parts of the world. The Calgary international Airport is located 18 kilometers to the northeast of Calgary town which is a distance that takes a traveler 20 minutes from the Calgary downtown in traffic lights. The airport also offers ground transportation to its passengers. The ground means of transportation include; bus and tour operators, shuttles of the airport, transit of Calgary, limousines, rental cars and taxis (Calgary International Airport, 2012).

Problems Experienced by Calgary International Airport:

Despite the fact that Calgary International Airport is a very big and busy airport serving over 100 destinations all over the world, it faces a number of problems as outlined underneath;

Hotel System:

Calgary is a very busy airport and serves people from long distances that require accommodation and readily available meals. The problem faced in achieving these services is that, the hotels that serve clients of the airport are located very far and takes long to access them. Ground transportation means takes over 20 minutes to the hotels that serve them. This is tiring and annoying to passengers who would have traveled long distances from their destinations (Folk, 2004).

Flight Arrival Delays:

The problem of delayed flights is highly experienced in the Calgary International Airport due to a number of reasons. These reasons include; weather conditions, traffic congestion, go-around, and mechanical problems.

Environment:

The hotels that serve the Calgary International Airport have very poor hygienic conditions. A client who once used the hotels confesses that in the smoking rooms of the hotels; they have not placed ash trays in the rooms and therefore; cigarette ash looked more like chew that have been spewed on the walls of the rooms. Such environmental conditions might lead to the transmission of communicable diseases to users of those rooms (Folk, 2004).

Sometimes, the rooms are not well cleaned in that you might check in only to find out that the room stinks like hell. In addition to that, the walls of the rooms are not well sealed in that an individual can hear somebody talking from the other neighboring rooms. This condition makes a client very uncomfortable while staying in those rooms.

Management System:

The hotels that serve the passengers of Calgary International Airport are poorly managed. This can be evidenced from the confession of an individual who was once a worker at the hotel. The individual claims that; items of clients that are forgotten in the wash rooms, smoking rooms and lodgings are never safely kept for them to come back and pick them. They rather take them and claim to have not seen them at all (Calgary International Airport, 2012).

Security:

The security side is not very sensitive in the Calgary international Airport. This come about based on the fact that not all security men and women do not wear any identity cards in the neck therefore, anybody might wear uniforms that resemble theirs and pretend to …
