If named manager of Marymount University’s Soccer Team, I would inform all the athletes to sign and follow a code of conduct about what they tweet. The reason why I will request them to do this is because the code of conduct will go along the way in preventing any embarrassment the athletes might cause while they tweet or rather engage in other social media such as Facebook. In fact, there have been recent misdemeanors caused by some of the athletes. For them signing the code of conduct, they pledge to manage the immediate and unfiltered use of the social media, in which case they are the role models for children around the world. Signing of the code will prevent social media controversies, in which case it might come too late whenever there are the involvements of, for instance, University. This implies that the code will just prevent the athletes from publishing anything that can easily cause or rather embarrass some members of the, for instance, University and management of the sports. The code will also limit the players from using the twitter or Facebook whenever there is some match (Martens 102).

The code of conduct will provide a practical guide for the professional behavior and character. In addition, it will guide the practice for the national and international athletes and assist them to solve the ethical dilemmas whenever there is counseling of elite athletes. The signing of the code of conduct will also promote confidence in the athlete’s profession to the university’s society. Furthermore, the signing by the athletes will uphold the integrity of the university network, including the national athletes associations. Moreover, it will inform university staff, students, and even the communities around Marymount University plus the whole state about the standards, in which case the institution adhere (Martens 102).
