Abstract

The spread of the HIV virus could be the one of the main threat to the population of the world. There were many attempts to provide the infected people with the efficient vaccine. This research study shows the last attempts of the scientist to develop the vaccine to fight the HIV virus. It also highlights the importance and difficulties of the production of the vaccine for wide use. It explains how the vaccine might works and progress that was made by the scientists in the development of the vaccine.

Introduction

In recent years there have been many claims about the discovery of vaccines to protect against HIV infection. These vaccines are in various stages of development. Some of them have been tested on animals; a few vaccines have demonstrated the ability to protect the body from viruses, similar to the human immunodeficiency virus. It is very difficult to suggest which vaccine should get more attention and what stages it should come through before it will be tasted on people.

The needs for an AIDS vaccine

The spread of the AIDS is critical for today’s population. More and more people become infected by the HIV virus. The proper vaccine would be able to save million live all over the world. It is estimated that the effectiveness of the vaccine more that 50% could rapidly decrease the amount of people who affected by this virus. The vaccine would be much better solution to solving this problem then existed prevention methods. The vaccine will serve a good job for couples who wish to have a child with low risk of HIV transmission. The vaccine will protect children from any possible routes of the HIV transmission. The providing of the vaccine would cost much cheaper than existed treatment for infected patients.

How might an AIDS vaccine works

There are two ways in which the AIDS vaccine might works. The first one is a preventive vaccine. This vaccine would be able to stop HIV virus occurring together. The other one is therapeutic vaccine. It would not be able to stop the HIV infection. However, it would be able to delay the disease in people who got the virus. It could also make the risk of the transmitting to other people lower. The first type of vaccine is much better, but the therapeutic vaccine could also bring many benefits to the process of treatment. The main job that the vaccine has to do is to encourage the immune system of the human body to fight HIV. The immune system should build the antibodies that would make a block for HIV virus. However, the development of the vaccine that should work in this way failed in attempts of the research. Only a small number of the patients with HIV virus could produce antibodies to block HIV. The other study was directed to study the make the immune system produce cells that would be able to fight HIV. However, scientists convinced that the approach to this issue should be with participation of both cells …
