The world on Turtle‘s back: why do the Iroquois call the muskrat earth diver.In the creation story ‘The world on The Turtle’s back”, the author; Iroquois calls Muskcat the earth diver. She possesses intelligent insight and ability for strategy and uses her power to generate an atmosphere of terror and coercion by accusing other girls of practicing witchcraft when they refuse to go with her plan. Her accusations of the innocent at first disclose a mischievous pleasure in exerting power over other people's lives.When Abigail comprehends that her schemes has failed and that she has in a way led Proctor to the gallows, she exhibits the same icy lack of concern that controls her actions throughout the play. She runs away from Salem to Boston where she becomes a prostitute.Question 4Teenaged girls of the village had been caught dancing in the wood naked, which was a clear sign of witch craft according to puritans’ standard.
