The movie “Game Change Movie” is based on the book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. The movie is a clear reflection of the stories and the views given in the book. It focuses mainly on John McCain’s choice of Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate during the 2008 United States presidential race. The film is exceptionally good and entertaining even though it was one-sided because downplays Palin as a politician. Palin was a successful politician in Alaska, one of the small states of America. As a politician, she did a fantastic job and was in charge superior opportunities in America. As demonstrated in the movie, Sarah Palin did a heck of a job (Griffin).

The movie underlines what was impressive about John McCain, and it goes on to show that he never blamed Sarah Palin for his political hitches. As portrayed in the film, Sarah Palin is an extremist as she refused to do campaign drives with a pro choice candidate and did not support embryonic stem cell research. These scenes in the movie were intended to paint Sarah Palin as a strange person. At the end of the movie, Sarah Palin is warned by John McCain not to be co-opted by the party’s extreme fringe.

John McCain added that the extreme fringe could abolish the party. This movie concentrated on showing how bitter, racist and angry the Republican Party was in the race for the white house. In addition, the movie wanted to showcase how the republican voters were during the campaign and election period. There was no one to assist John McCain in defeating Barack Obama even though Sarah Palin was a highly regarded as good decision maker. Additionally, it was not Sarah Palin’s lack of understanding that led to the defeat of John McCain. Suspension of McCain campaign showed how he had little knowledge on America’s economy. This made many voters view Barack Obama as the person to be the next president (Griffin). The movie was entertaining as it presented a convincing story. It put its focus on the worst side of Sarah Palin even though many Americans still love her as a great person (Griffin).

The movie had a potential in affecting the American political culture at large and the 2012 elections. This is evident from the way young women view contending for any political office as a bad idea. According to John Pitney, a professor of American politics at Claremont McKenna College in California, the film serves as a reminder of the problems encountered by Sarah Palin in 2008 election. For instance in 2012 elections, Mitt Romney picked his running mate, basing on the knowledge of public policy matters (Griffin, 2012).

Barbara O’Connor, a professor at California State University states that many of her female students are reluctant in involving themselves in any political activity. The female students see various women politicians exposed to double standards especially in clothing and family issues. The movie …
