There exists a great diversity of transportation vehicles in the system of vehicle classification that is used by numerous organizations. Due to this variety, the number of vehicle categories was decreased to only the major ones. These major categories are passenger car fires, rail transportation vehicle fires, truck and recreational vehicle fires, aircraft, and marine vehicle fires. The principles and tactics of fire suppression are quite similar; there may appear certain dangerous uncommon situations that arise specifically from transportation vehicle fires.
This way, for the passenger vehicle fires category it is important to know that these transports can be stopped fast and people can be evacuated almost immediately. Motor homes and buses are in the category of recreational vehicles, which can be utilized for travelling or camping seasonally and range from a small trailer to a huge bus-like vehicle that has features of a home. In his case, the danger lies in the fuel lines and electrical connections may become the causes of the fire and accidents. Trucks may be exposed to danger due to their cargo, which can be a hazard and same is for the trains, aircraft and ships, where the most danger comes from what they carry. The danger for the aviation is also obviously the height, the fast speed, and the absence of a safety exit route.
This way, knowing the most important risk factors that a transport obtains is the key to successful survival and exit route. Although these may be different for each and every category, it is important to learn and educate individuals about them so that the dangerous situation can be prevented or solved successfully.
