The increase in tightening grounds of economic status, political discord and war rips the realization of the American dream. However, there is still some hope regardless of the redefinition of the dream as it was in the past. The past decade has experienced massive redefinition of the American dream and character. Only a few Americans still believe in the existence of the American dream in the modern times as compared to the number, which believed in the American dream before the Great Recession period (Wyatt-Nichol 258-279).
