Abstract

This paper describes the different types of surveys. This paper analyzes the number of people who participated in the sample compared to the number in the population. Also it provides the discussion how the results of the survey can be used to tell a story or support an idea of the sponsoring company or media group.

Introduction

Poll and surveys results provide a quantified information on a limited range of problems. Poll and surveys results can process information and statistical methods to disseminate the results to all consumers. Polls and surveys help understand the company or brand, identify the main problems and so on.

Entertainment Survey

Harris Interactive conducted an entertainment survey among over 2,000 US adults to determine the Best-Groomed Female Celebrity of 2011. The U.S. population is 313,232,044. Thus the survey participated 0.0007% of the U.S. population. The results are listed below. According to Harris Interactive: “Jennifer Aniston came out on top with 29 percent of U.S. adults voting for her. Angelina Jolie came in second with only 15 percent of U.S. adults naming her as most well-groomed . Beyonce (13%), Mila Kunis (10%) and Sofia Vergara (8%) round out the top five Best-Groomed Female Celebrities” (Business Wire, 2011). This sample of respondents was enough to get an idea about the preferences in body waxing and reveal that "body hair maintenance and removal is a necessity to being considered well groomed". This survey describes attitude of the U.S. population to new products in the beauty industry. This survey helps to identify that now U.S. residents are not attracted by dangerous style of Angelina Jolie and prefer spontaneity Jennifer Aniston.

Entertainment survey is a reliable method for the study of consumer preferences. Entertainment Survey is suitable for European Wax Center as it helps in study of consumers (the definition of a portrait and description of the behavior of consumers, the study of consumer attitudes to goods provided European Wax Center). Entertainment survey also can increase the prominence of European Wax Center.

Political Survey

Gallup conducted a case study among over 400,000 US adults to determine some of the social and socio-psychological differences between Republicans and Democrats. The U.S. population is 313,232,044. Thus the survey participated 0.127% of the U.S. population. Based on these interviews, Gallup found that Republicans have less than the Democrats, health problems and health insurance. Gallup stated that: “The 89% of Republicans who have health insurance, for example, contrasts with 84.7% of Democrats and 78.3% of independents. Similarly, while 13.9% of Republicans said they lack money at times to pay for healthcare or medicine, more Democrats (19.6%) and independents (21.2%) said the same” (Gallup, 2012). Republicans are less concerned about the consequences of the financial crisis. The Republicans have more money than the Democrats. This pattern is observed in the United States over recent decades.
