Strategic planning ensures that the organization allocates its resources to the right departments in implementing a strategy. In the human resource department, the organization should ensure that the workers employed understand the goals of the organization. This enables the business to implement its strategic plan effectively. Effective communication between relevant stakeholders facilitates effective implementation of the strategic plan. The managers, employees and project team, should communicate regularly to ensure that the goals of the organization materialize. Regular meetings between the stakeholders to discuss the progress of the strategic plan are an effective way of working with the relevant stakeholders. The stakeholders share ideas at the meeting improving the quality of the plan.

Strategic planning starts with collection and analysis of relevant information by the project team (Price 217). The team later identifies the issues facing the organization and develops solutions to these issues. The organization then formulates strategic goals achieved through implementation of the solutions. The organization needs to implement the solutions in stages monitoring their effect on the organization. The project head should note the negative effects of the strategic plan and implement changes before the organizations suffers. Improving the workforce may require the organization to train its workers or hire skilled labor. The goal of the two choices is to improve the work force.

Training the workforce is expensive to the organization but hiring skilled labor requires an overhaul of the workforce. Regardless of the choice made by the management, the organization should prepare for changes in the strategic plan. The project manager should identify the negative effects of the strategic plan and modify the plan in time. Monitoring of the strategic plan process is crucial in ensuring an effective plan. The project manager should ensure that the objectives of the strategic plan govern the strategic plan.
