Resort business contributes significantly to the tourism industry by acting as a source of tourist attraction as well as offering dining, accommodation and recreational facilities to both local and foreign tourists. This report is centered on identifying various operations which take place in a resort and implications of how resort can advance its market niche to remain competitive. This report is about a decision tree analysis that Anders Forsgren is required to adopt to generate substantive revenues. The resort however still has some unexploited resources which it can use to upgrade its services and explore new markets to counteract the stiff competition from other upper class resorts in the region.

A resort is a place where people go to relax, engage in leisure activities or to just take a break from their normal day to day activities. Resorts can refer to islands, commercial establishments, all-inclusive hotels and so forth. They provide facilities such as accommodation, food and drinks, various entertainment services, sports activities, conference facilities among others. There are various types of resorts for instance, Beach resorts are resorts which are located at the coast and their main source of attraction is the beach. The resort industry has greatly evolved due to the increased demands of the fast growing population as well as the high competition in the tourism and hotel industries. It is therefore evident that, for Anders resort business to remain afloat in this highly competitive industry, proper and effective management is required and at the same time, good and effective marketing strategies have to be constantly implemented.

Marketing Strategy plan

Anders Forsgren requires a comprehensive marketing strategy plan that would enable the Recreational Properties business make use of the present resources to achieve its utmost objectives. To increase on profits, Anders should diversify his business by introducing new products and services to allow it navigate new markets. In developing Recreational Properties Anders should consider a development that offers room for futuristic expansion. In this regard, diversification would be a great way to go about all this because of the expansive land accessible. This would allow Anders to sell off the development after improving on it. In a nutshell, a resort would be the best business venture. Among the facilities would be conference hall, a golf course, tennis courts, ski runs and guest room’s restaurants and so forth. Roads are also essential in terms of facilitating easy movement. To take care of sanitary issues, development of efficient sewer systems would be necessary. However, creation of a conference facility and a golf course is a major prospect for business people. These amenities would need a considerable amount of capital especially a conference facility that accommodates 2000 people yet fully furnished, with a public address and other necessary tools. Such facilities would enhance the market niche for the resort in the sense that corporate personalities, political, religious groups can hold conventions and other meetings in the resort.
