Introduction

In conducting a research on a project, it is imperative to consider various aspects that form the basis upon which valid conclusions and inferences can be made from the study. For instance, if an experiment is to be conducted, there is need to offer succinct information that has a clear description of how the experiment was executed. In my project I intend to conduct a study on patients under rehabilitation in order to establish which nature of medical attention could speed up their recovery progress (Braguglia & Kanata, 2012). The study population entails all patients in the U.S but the sample will be picked form four hospitals in order to ensure that the cost of the research is manageable.

Basic Research Concepts

In this project the patients to form the sample for the study will be selected and subjected to a controlled environment from which various medical prescriptions are offered to them in order to determine the impact they would have on each one of them. The reason for ensuring that they are in a controlled environment is to ensure that no external factors influence the outcome of the research. This guarantees the internal validity of the research (Braguglia & Kanata, 2012). The external validity of the research on the other hand is attained through ensuring that the selection of the patients to be used in the research is done in such a way that they represent the whole population. This could therefore allow for generalization of the study’s findings to the whole population.

The study design used in this project is a sampling design and the strategy it has to be managed in a way that controls and manipulates variables so as to effectively answer the research question regarding potential cause-and-effect relationships. Validity in the research project will be enhanced through the credibility of the experimental results.

Subjects

In the project to be executed, both descriptive and inferential statistic will be used so as to provide comprehensive qualitative and quantitative information concerning the topic of research. This means that information relating to the basic demographic profile of the sample population size such as age, gender, and ethnic differences will be used so as to appropriate generalizations can be made concerning the study results (Whitley, 1999).

Ethical Considerations

In execution of any project research, there is need to uphold legal and ethical aspects so as to ensure that the safety and privacy of the participants in the study is guaranteed. This will avoid raising speculations on the experimental procedure and results obtained thereof.

Protocol Design

In the project, the research was conducted by first ensuring that all the patients are in a controlled environment where all factors are kept constant ad therefore no external factor would influence the outcome of the research (Whitley, 1999). The patients were then offered different sets of medical care which in this research formed the independent variable. Their response to this nature of the medical care would then represent the dependent variable. Different patients were offered different forms of medical attention. Some …
