Juvenile delinquency is one of the greatest problems in modern society. It is paid attention to by many institutions and organizations and much effort is made in order to eliminate it. As a rule, when struggling against juvenile delinquency, authorizes try to change attitudes and manner of behavior of adolescents, not taking into account the reasons of increased rates of juvenile delinquency. Those most common ones are health related problems, poverty, and family problems.

In many cases juvenile criminals do not experience some particular problem of those, which have been just mentioned above, but all of them, which are accompanied by minor problems. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that these three problems make the greatest impact on delinquency.

In most cases health problems are related to mental health. However, there are cases when health problems make adolescents commit crime in order to get money to pay for their treatment or treatment of their relatives.

Poverty is, probably, the most common reason of juvenile delinquency. Adolescents steal and rob in order to get money to pay for the things and services they need or want. In some cases crime is means to become free form dependence upon parents. These frequently become reasons for crimes as well, especially in the cases when there are significant.

Problems in the family, as well as poverty and health problems inevitable cause stress which leads to mental disorders and impossibility to concentrate on the right ways to solve the problems. Unfortunately, experiencing such problems, adolescents disregard education, which is the best way to develop conscience thinking and have more opportunities to solve all kinds of problems without violating the law. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to develop special programmes and strategies to address psychological needs of adolescents who have to face such problems as illnesses, living in single parent families or living in poor families (Causes of juvenile crime and solutions).
