All humans throughout heir life acquire certain qualities that have the direct influence on their emotional disposition and personality development. A famous psychologist and educator Maurice Elias derived a simple formula of knowledge that parents, school and community leaders expect to be deposited in the minds of the children when they leave school (Elias, 2003). He represented a list of what young people are expected to know and be able to do at certain age.

According to Elias (2003) Children are expected to be completely literate and able to use and benefit from the power of spoken and written language. They should understand science and mathematics enough to be ready for the progress of the future world and be able to think carefully, critically and creatively. Children should understand why it is important to take care of their personal well-being and health. They should be able to develop effective social relations, such working in groups and finding ways to communicate with other people from different backgrounds and cultures. Every single child is expected to be kind and caring for other individuals.

Children should understand the way their society works and be ready to take on the society roles necessary for the future progress. Having a good character and making sound moral decisions are also inevitable features of a happy and successful individual. All of the above mentioned aspects refer to the concept of “educating the whole child” (Elias, 2003).

When talking about the concept of “educating the whole child”, Maslow's “hierarchy of needs” should be systematically met (Maslow, 1980). Maslow also claims that in case this essential core or nature of an individual is suppressed or denied, one is sure to get sick, sometimes at once and sometimes later.

The majority of psychologists predict very negative consequences in case a child does not grow up in a correct chronological sequence. Such famous scientists as Erikson (1994), Elias (2003) and Maslow (1980) agree that if an individual does not have one’s needs fully met, if one’s essential core is suppressed or denied, if all of the aspects necessary for the whole child education are not learned, and the eight stages are not successfully completed this may have enormous negative influence of the individual’s personality in the future.

There is a wide range of personal capabilities and skills that are claimed to contribute to the positive social development of the child. Here are three of them that contribute to positive development in a wide range of social responsibilities and roles (Elias, 2003).

In terms of creativity these include: thinking of new and unusual ideas, sharing and playing with them. In terms of positive self image these are: valuing oneself and one's personal achievements. In terms of problem solving one should mention working towards a positive solution by analyzing …
