My main task to carry out this semester will be to achieve more than I managed the previous year. This purpose might seem quite abstract but in reality it is not like that. The thing is, education for me is, first of all, a way to develop myself as a personality. As I. Kant once said “What are the aims which are at the same time duties? They are perfecting of ourselves, the happiness of others.” (Kant, xvii)And that is where I totally agree with him as I find the only way to change something around in unstoppable progress of oneself. I hope to learn the way to use my theoretical background in my everyday life. No matter what new I find out this semester, it must become helpful in fulfilling of what I truly long.
I find the grades (not mine only) quite a relative matter as it is only a result of anyone`s activity and their level depends only on the way one cares about them. If it is something one finds primary to maintain on the high level, that is where a problem might appear. But in the case if one observes them only as a means to implement something bigger, as gaining precious knowledge, for instance, there will be no problem in achieving high performance. So I cannot claim that my grades will be excellent but, anyway, this semester I am totally oriented for obtaining necessary experience and skills, which, hopefully, will become a guarantee for improvement of my previous results.
In my opinion, accomplishment of any goal depends on, first of all, its proper arrangement. If I targeted on good marks only, I would not be sure about really positive results. But in my case it is all a little bit different as grades are not even my secondary but tertiary aim, as not only all attainments I am willing to acquire this semester will help me to expand my horizons but, as a result, improve the society, meaning that by my self-improvement, I will influence people I communicate with.
