Human resource management is a responsible task. Of course, employees can have necessary skills and knowledge. Nevertheless, in order for them to improve their performance they should be well trained. Spring is widely recognized wireless communication company, which is has served around 56 million customers at the end of the third quarter of 2012 (Sprint, 2012). Because the Sprint Company is rapidly developing it is important to create mentoring program for its management team and focus it on idea of instructional design.

First of all, it is necessary to examine the situation, determine the instructional goal, and then analyze the learners and context of learning (Information Association, 2001). Therefore, instructional goal for Sprint Company would be based on increasing professionalism of the company’s supply chain management team. The learners are those executives, who are working on establishment of strong relationships with suppliers and hold them accountable for the performance needed to meet our standards (Sprint, 2012). That is why the learning should be based on developing communicational skills of employees.

Secondly, it is crucial to write performance objectives and develop instructional strategies, which can later be implemented in the system and then evaluated (Information Association, 2001). Thus, the main performance objective of the Sprint supply managers would be to improve knowledge of supplier diversity and performance in order to increase the number of good quality suppliers in the future. The main instructional strategy will be based on development of communicational skills during the trainings, as well field trips to suppliers’ factories. Lastly, individual performance of each worker should be carefully evaluated.

All in all, individual instructors can create many versions of instructional design. Nevertheless, management team of the Sprint Company should be instructed in theoretical and practical spheres. In fact, supply managers should not only be aware of the best suppliers, but possess necessary skills for starting cooperation with them. To sum everything up, instructional design should be implemented by all human resource managers.
