A conception of health and wellness is very complex and multivalued. Since 1940s more and more scientists, proffesors, doctors and medical practioners had been trying to create a general classification system of health and wellness models that would define and disclose the essence of health for the purpose of simplifying and easing a medical knowledge.

There are seven fundamental models of health and wellness that had been determined: health model, health-illness continuum, agent-host-environment model, eudaemonistic model, adaptive model, role perfomance model and clinical model. Saying a few words about each of them, it can be positevely stated that every single one of them appears worthy of the right to an existence but at the same time every model is not comprehensive itself, though gives expression of a certain health idea. For example, a clinical model interprets a health as the opposite of illness; an eudaemonistic model gives a plain understanding of health and wellness as a condition of a person's potential that does or does not reached; a role perfomance model explains a health as an ability to fulfill roles in society; agent-host-environment model that is described as a balnce between agent, host and environment; health illness continuum model that shows health and illness as opposite ends of the health continuum; adaptive model is about health being a natural process within which any failure is considered to be a disease; and the last one is health model represents health as the state of being well with the use of all the potential to the fullest (Models of Health and Wellness, 2012).

I as one of the nurses working at the hospital for helping people to overcome the illnesses, strongly believe that the adaptive health and wellness model most fully reflects the sense of health.

Our organisms are complex systems with individual sets of features that are appealed for adaptating to the external world. The level of our health depends on the set of features that we get from a mother nature and the ability of adaptation to the outside conditions that we face. In case the organism features can perform the appropriate adaptation at the place we live, the health is saved, otherwise a disease comes. At this point, knowing the exact features set of a person's organism and his environment conditions there is a big chance for us as doctors and nurses to identify a possible risk and prevent an illness.

That's why the question of adaptation is so important from the medical point of view.

Conclusion

After reviewing the most common health and wellness models I came to conclusion that the adaptive model is much more sense bearing than any other of them which are giving a description in general and don't point out the basic concept of human health.
