The purpose of these instructions is to teach people inexperienced in gun shooting to use a handgun safely and correctly. The key point at this beginner’s stage is to master basics of firing in the manner that guarantees safety of the shooter and other people around.
Using a handgun requires no special skills; any person with a normal vision can practice it. Materials and tools needed for the shooting training include a standard double-action handgun and a set of cartridges.
Positioning a Handgun
Grip the handgun with your both hands. Hold the back strap with your dominant hand while the supporting hand is fixed over the exposed part of the grip.
Check the position of the supporting hand; it should be high on the grip. Make sure the thumb of this hand points forward, close to the point where the slide and frame meet.
Assuming the Shooting Position
Put your feet shoulder width apart. Make your knees slightly bent. This position prepares you for aiming the target.
Take the aim by raising the handgun toward the target.

Aim using your dominant eye.
Align the top of the front sight with the top of the rear sight.

Pulling the Trigger
Press the trigger straight to the rear. Make sure you press only the front of the trigger, not its sides.
Press on the trigger until you can feel its resistance.
The gun will discharge.
